Who We Are

Chalford Cubed Youth Forum is one of nine similar youth voice groups that exist across the Stroud district.

Initially created in 2011 as Bussage and Chalford Youth Forum, we became Chalford Cubed in 2014 in recognition of the six areas of the wider community which we strive to represent – these are: Bussage; Brownshill; Eastcombe; Chalford Hill; Chalford Valley; and France Lynch.

We strive to ‘speak out and make changes’ by having a voice and being heard on important local issues for all young people between 11 and 18 years.

To do this we are constantly looking for the views and opinions of all young people that either live in or visit the communities we represent. We are a friendly group, that meet on average every two weeks – if you would like to join us, we would love to have you on board… please get in touch (see contact details or click here).

We are supported by the youth work team at Stroud District Council.

To influence changes in the community, we work with a number of organisations, including:

Chalford Parish Council (https://www.chalford-glos.gov.uk/)

Frith Youth Centre (https://frithyouthcentre.org/)

Our Projects

Chalford Cubed works by running projects, usually one or two a year depending how big they are, that will bring about some kind of change in Chalford. These projects are designed by the group through meetings where members are encouraged to think about what issues young people are facing at the moment, and what they’d like to do in response. Once the group have picked a topic and project they’d like to take forwards our Youth Worker, Rachael, will work with them to help them bring the project to life.

These projects are youth-led, and totally depend on what the members feel they want to achieve or tackle. The sky is the limit, with previous groups having run music events, environmental campaigns, movements for social change, and worked with local councils and organisations to create physical changes within the community.

Previously Chalford Cubed Youth Forum have written articles for the Stroud News and Journal, and designed their own local radio station.

If you don’t want to join but you’ve got something you’d like the group to discuss or work towards you can let us know here.

All our Local Youth Forum Groups offer you the opportunity to become a Youth Voice Representative on the Stroud District Youth Council, you can find out more here.
